Holding Your Wedding Ceremony in a Local Church

There are several church locations for your consideration.

There are several church locations for your consideration.

Looking for a church for your destination wedding ceremony? Often couples would prefer a church wedding, but are unsure about what’s available on St. Thomas. The St. Thomas Reformed church is a simple Caribbean-style church. It’s perfect for a relaxed open-air church setting, with ceiling fans creating a cool breeze. For a Catholic wedding there are two churches available, St. Peter & Paul Cathedral and Our Lady of Perpetual Help. (The Catholic Priests won’t preform ceremonies outside of the church.) If you are looking for a specific denomination we can check into availability for you.

The Garden Terrace is a beautiful quaint location that is private & it overlooks the breathtaking Azure waters of the Atlantic Ocean & has a view of the British Virgin Islands. It is not a church but we can do a Christian ceremony there, as one of our ministers says, the beautiful water color is a nice replacement for stained glass windows. This site is for parties of 20 or less. The advantage of the Garden Terrace over the others is its lovely view.

We can arrange for transportation, flowers, photography, videography, or anything else you might like for your wedding. A coordinator will make sure everything goes smoothly, from helping with the marriage license to being on site during the ceremony.

Why worry about weather on your wedding day?

A touch of elegance for your ceremony on the beach

Choosing a beach location for your wedding often means that weather no longer is a worry. Being on the beach, next to the gentle lap of waves on the shore, toes in sand, feeling the breezes…it’s sensory overload. Whether clouds roll over head, or a rain shower comes–the weather changes very rapidly in the Caribbean. Light showers are sometimes a blessing, cooling the temperatures after the bright sunshine.

Surrounded with the natural beauty of the sea and sand, you’ll easily relax and everything will fall into place. The beach atmosphere causes you to take a breath, enjoy the moment and savor the experience–clouds or not.

St. Thomas Carnival

Carnival SmilesIt’s Carnival time, 2009!
Carnival on St. Thomas is a celebration of heritage, traditions, local flavor and island life. Filled with color, music, dance troupes, jouvert, steel pan bands, johnny cake and plenty of festive drinks, it’s an event with enough jamming for everyone!
Our theme this year is “Echo’s through time”. An event that you should not miss if you are here during this time! The events start Wednesday, April 29th and go through Saturday, May 2nd! To read more about this year’s St. Thomas Carnival: http://caribbeanvillas.typepad.com/caribbean_villa_lounge/2009/03/virgin-islands-carnival-committee-unveils-new-web-site.html
If you are planning a wedding on St. Thomas during this time, it’s important to plan ahead for the extra downtown traffic and excitement. Many local businesses shut down for the holiday, and navigating through town can be difficult. Ask us if you’re visiting or planning a ceremony, we’ll try to offer suggestions to make your visit or wedding celebration smooth. It’s a wonderful event that can make your own celebration even more special!

Welcome.
